Fisher & Paykel Nova Micro Nasal Pillow Headgear

This is my favorite mask out of the six masks i have tried since starting PAP therapy about 18 months ago. I have tried 2 full face masks, a nasal mask, a nasal cradle mask and the P10 pillow mask in addition to the Nova Micro. The pillows on this mask are very comfortable once your nose gets used to them. The headgear is minimal and easy to clean and you do not have to over-tighten the straps to get a good seal. I get 0 leaks with this mask while sleeping on my side, which is not something I acheived with any other mask. My inhalation pressure is 16cm, so this mask can maintain a seal even at that high pressure. I highly recommend this mask for anyone who wants to try a pillow mask. I did have one small issue – the holes that vent CO2 when you exhale are not covered by a diffuser like you find on other masks. Thus, the air from the holes could bounce off my pillow and hit me in the face when I was sleeping on my side. I initially thought this was leakage, but it wasn’t and even knowing this, it was still mildly annoying. I fixed this by putting a single layer of loose-weave gauze over the holes. Problem solved! I will continue to use this mask every day unless my nose is congested due to cold or flu.

The cost of this mask is very reasonable on CPAPSupply and replacement cushions come on sale quite often, which is great for stocking up. I haven’t found a better price for this mask anywhere else.
